COVID-19 Tracking, Tracing Initiates The Big Snitching Society

We cannot trace, track, and test our way to freedom from COVID-19

“In the next literally two weeks, you’re going to see a vast testing and tracing operation come alive as we’ve never seen before in this city, and this is just the beginning,” Mayor de Blasio said without irony or chagrin.

New York City also this weekend unleashed nearly 2,300 “social distancing ambassadors” on New Yorkers to make sure they are wearing masks and keeping the six-foot separation rule here. It is not immediately clear who are these “social distancing ambassadors,” but with that innocuous name, they have to be bad.
Mayor de Blasio also said Sunday that New York City beaches will be closed Memorial Day Weekend. So, it is safe to go to the supermarket in New York, but not to sit in the open air and sunshine. These ridiculous edicts are the bread and butter of the lockdown. The increasing surveillance is crazy when the rules make no sense.  The emergency measures are the means to control craven New Yorkers and destroy Donald Trump’s presidency.

We cannot trace, track, and test our way to freedom from COVID-19, which is likely to be with us forever – the same way we have hundreds of other diseases that kill people with random regularity. Trackers, tracers, and social distancing ambassadors represent an accelerating descent into dystopia invading every aspect of our lives. This collection of globalists, health care bureaucrats, and governor tyrants will not rest until everyone consents to have a GPS tracking system inserted into his or her arm, so Big Brother can know Americans’ whereabouts at all times.

Tracking and tracing is a dangerous precedent

The only thing clear about COVID-19 is that we are still learning about the virus. Americans are likely to die from COVID-19 for a long time, the same way they succumb to heart disease, cancer, respiratory illness, accidents of all types, drug overdoses, Alzheimer’s, the flu, and a host of other unintended premature deaths. The amazing good news that we rarely hear discussed is that despite being highly contagious, COVID-19 only kills a small percentage of infected people. Probably everybody will contract COVID-19 at some point, no matter how hard they try to avoid exposure. The best outcome would be to find a vaccine to protect older people and those with underlying health conditions, and for everybody else to get COVID-19, survive it, and build herd immunity. We need both: a vaccine and herd immunity, one without the other is not going to win the day.

Tracking and tracing is a dangerous precedent. Even with testing, there will be false positives and negatives. Not only that, but a person could also test negative one day, and a day later “catch” COVID-19. Mass testing would require an unnecessarily intrusive government apparatus. Someone who had COVID-19 may or may not get it again, depending on how many “antibodies” they produced in their system. Many public health experts agree that the presence of antibodies in a patient means they may acquire some degree of immunity. That is still not good enough to satisfy the public health scolds concerning the value of getting and surviving COVID-19.

The bottom line is that 36 million Americans have lost their jobs because of COVID-19 fear and hysteria. Trying to avoid COVID-19 with social distancing is a crapshoot in terms of a public health strategy. The best we can do is protect everyone who feels vulnerable, while the rest of us go about the business of our daily lives and make sure that America survives with individual liberty and freedom, which is imperiled by the onerous, irrational COVID-19 response—especially the new snitching.
